Our Malaria Prevention Programme

'Reducing Child Mortality through Prevention, Treatment & Education'

Date Posted: 21/12/2016

Malaria is one of the major causes of child mortality, for children aged under 5, in our local communities. PWA has been delivering an all-inclusive, collaborative anti-Malaria programme to respond to this silent killer. Working in partnership with the Ghana Healthcare Service, other NGOs and academic institutions, PWA delivers best-practice Malaria testing, treatment, education, and distribution of preventative resources (such as malaria nets and repellents). Please support this most critical of appeals & help us save lives!

At present, we are urgently seeking both volunteers, donors and partners to help us expand what has been a very successful 2016 Malaria Prevention Programme (MPP) scope of works for our charity.
Throughout 2016, working in collaboration with the Ghana Healthcare Service, we have delivered educational workshops to community leaders, parents and children across a number of Ghana's most underprivileged communities. We have tested hundreds of suspected malaria patients and provided treatment and medicines to all, 100% free of charge. And we are working with our closest communities to deliver malaria prevention classes to children and treated mosquito nets to vulnerable families. By increasing knowledge regarding the prevention of malaria, and providing resources and services which treat malaria, we are working to support several objectives of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by reducing child mortality and empowering families to prosper.
If you have a medical background and are looking to expand your hands-on experience in disease control in a development setting, then please view our Malaria Prevention Volunteer Programme here.
And if you would like to donate funds towards our 2017 MPP scope of works, please click here to make a simple and secure online payment through JustGiving.
