Water Wipeout Fundraiser

Partner West Africa relies on the support of generous donors and supporters who involve themselves in all sorts of physically demanding activities to raise funds. This month we want to celebrate a couple of those, starting with the amazing Water Wipeout Event that took place on July 8th.

Our team for this event was created by one of our trustees, Sarah, who first got to know PWA when she spent 3 months in 2016 volunteering for us in Ghana. Sarah’s background in education meant that she brought invaluable expertise to our work with the children in the Daycare Centre and she was responsible for some important developments in curriculum and teaching methods. On her return to the UK she continued to be involved as a sponsor and eventually joined the Board of Trustees in 2017.

Water Wipeout combines running with overcoming water based obstacles of a very challenging nature. It was Sarah’s first big fund raising event for us and was a spectacular success. She puts this down to the help she received from the team who took part.

She particularly valued the support from Auctus Management Group Limited. Richard Toy, CEO of Auctus Management Group Limited, took part in the day’s events and staff supported him in his endeavour by helping to raise a fantastic amount of money that will support children and families living in some of the most underdeveloped parts of West Africa and help them to build a brighter future. Richard commented:

“Myself and our team are all very passionate about the work Partner West Africa provide, so we were thrilled to be given an opportunity to raise money and increase awareness for their great cause.”

You can read more of Richard’s thoughts here.

We want to send a huge thank you to Richard and his staff as well as to Sarah (who swallowed far too much dubious water on the day!) and the whole team. Delighted to count them amongst our friends.
