What's in a Name?

Date Posted: 25/11/2018

In Ghana names are very important, read on to find out what your 'day name' is.

In Ghana names are very important, they can say what day a person was born on, what order they were born in e.g. 2nd born or special circumstances surrounding their birth e.g. in war.

Here we look particularly at 'day names': the name given to a person based on the day of the week they were born. Each day of the week is associated with certian character traits or characteristics. The names are spelt or pronounced slightly differently depending on the language spoken.
