Marking our continued commitment to the communities of Oshieye, Kokrobite, Bortianor, and Langma, VWA today attended the GA South Ghana Municipal Council Executive and Chiefs community development meeting at the regional Council head quarters.

At the invitation of the Regional Chief Executive VWA team members and volunteers were invited to address the Council in order to identify and implement solutions for local development issues.

From safety & security, health & hygiene, infrastructure development, to education and healthcare, a number of important development issues were addressed and discussed. As a result, VWA has committed to extending its educational community and family workshops, to facilitate training and offer support where required, in the Ga South communities.

Key to the Volunteer West Africa strategy of community engagement over the next 12 months will be the involvement of our international volunteers in the delivery of workshop that deal with local African issues. If you have a skill-set or expertise - particularly in nutrition, children's hygiene, community development or family education - VWA would welcome your support as a member of our volunteering workshop delivery team.

Please see here for information regarding the availability and costs of volunteer placements with Volunteer West Africa.
