Appeal for Volunteers: Vulnerable Children's Daycare Centre, Oshieye, Ghana

Date Posted: 01/10/2014
Whether you can work from the UK or you want to travel to Ghana to complete a life changing volunteer placement, could you or someone you know help our charity fund, plan or build a specialist daycare and nursery centre for hundreds of vulnerable children in the community of Oshieye, Ghana?

Volunteer West Africa is appealing for anyone with relevant skills, knowledge and/or energy to help us deliver one of our most important and ambitious projects to-date: the design, construction and delivery of a dedicated specialist daycare and children's nursery centre, for vulnerable children, which will provide free education, healthcare and support to hundreds of some of the region's most underprivileged families.

With the initial Volunteer West Africa community and project needs assessment and report completed, our team is now working with the Oshieye community to draw up second tier plans for the project's development. The VWA team, and the children and families of Oshieye, would therefore now like to launch a heartfelt appeal for your help and support.

As part of the next stage of this incredible project we desperately need partners and volunteers - individuals or groups - who can work from the UK or here in Ghana to help with the fund raising, planning, further development and even with the construction of the centre itself.

Maybe you are a school looking for a long-term partner project, maybe you are a club or group looking to fund raise for a valuable charitable project, maybe you are a student or graduate looking to share and develop your experience in education, community development, engineering, construction, child-care, social work, or international development, or maybe you just have the time, energy and generosity of spirit to get stuck in and care for those who are less fortunate than yourself.

If you, or someone you might know, might be interested in learning more about this fantastic and life-changing opportunity, then please get in contact Matt Craig at Volunteer West Africa.
